Just another Thursday morning......

We woke to a bright windless day,
the water out side our window
still as a mill pond.

We decided that it was the day for a trip out to Two Peoples Bay.

We played frisbee, kicked balls, paddled, rock climbed...
generally had a great day at the sea side,
at possibly one of the most perfect beaches that you could imagine.

If I ever start to take this stuff for granted..... please someone, kick me!

Little Beach

Hmmm not bad for mid winter.
One shoe wonder

Surf's up

On Sunday I went to bed feeling totally physically exhausted for the 1st time in a long while
Its a good feeling.
Quite different to just plain old exhausted.

The reason...
Becca and I decided it was time to become surf chicks.

As females we decided it was better to get a lesson rather than assume we knew all about it
 Good plan.
The waves were big, we played in the white water.

We caught a lot of waves.
We both stood up........briefly.

Last time I tried surfing I got pummelled and had water coming out of my nose for days.
This was much better, I want to try it again.

Prize for cool surf chick has to go to Skye!

Checking conditions.
Small people wondering what is so hard about crawling?

'Where's Rebecca?'

That's a 'big wave' in case you were wondering?!

New Home

Keeping a handle on Daddy.

Its surprisingly exciting moving back to somewhere you know.
We went house hunting on Monday and found...
our new home.

It's not so modern and not so big but I think it will suit us.
I'm looking forward to making it ours.

I'm imagining strolls to the beach...(and the swings) late on warm summer afternoons,
lazing in a hammock out the back,
and growing veges in the ramshackle back yard.
You never know we may even get a few chooks.

I'm sure the reality will be a bit different,
probably not quite so long lazing in the hammock as I would like,
but I think it will be good.

We got off to a good start with a celebratory icecream at Simmos.

Today's the day

Today we became Australian Permanent Residents.
Its been a long wait with quite a few twists and turns.  All of it leading to great experiences, nonetheless its just amazing to know that we can finally plan things.
Not that we have many plans.........except to buy a barbeque (thank you Barsbys).
Well we wouldn't be real Aussies without one would we?.

Yey to us.
As you can see I'm drinking fizz.  Arthur is raising a JD in Queensland.

Escape

The sun came out yesterday so we decided to do the same.
Our favourite beach.
Empty on a Sunday afternoon.
Where is everyone?

Biscuit Baking

We've cut a lot of shapes out of play-doh recently.... it's been mostly raining.
I dawned on me that if we did the same thing with biscuit dough...
we would have something nice to go with cups of tea (and bottles of milk).

We both did mixing and cutting but Skye was in charge of getting the sprinklies on.

Yum.

Just checking that we've put them all on the biscuits.
The big Australian biscuits are mine.  MINE. MINE.

Boat Tripping

On Sunday we took a boat trip out to the Islands.
It could have been cheesy but it wasn't.
We had a magical day.
Fresh air, bright sunshine and water with a slight chill.

A Manta Ray cruised past the boat and a turtle rolled by, raising flipper to wave.
We lunched with a lizard and swam with an enormous blue Wrasse.

A winding path led though the bush to the look out over Whitehaven beach.
As we walked I could only think how much I love to walk and of all the amazing places I have walked.  Such a simple pleasure.
A short walk but I enjoyed it as much as the perfect view that we reached.

A good day.  Lucky us!

Whitehaven Beach

Layla loved the chugg of the engine and managed a lot of this!

Smiley Girl

A short moment of peace, I closed my eyes and hear the word 'mummy'!
