Skye's Butterfly Birthday

It started the night before with a plan to make a butterfly cake.
A couple of hours later, a lot of laughing and some reminising about our own birthday cakes
we ended up with a technicolour disco bat!
Luckily we've lots of years left to improve.

We woke up early (as usual) on the 25th May
It was Skye's 3rd Birthday.
Lots of excitement,
paper everywhere and 2 happy little girls.

The sun decided to shine and we got to put on our party outfits.

Ready to Party
We had guests of all ages to the party,
and ate icecreams and sausage rolls.

The bat cake didn't last long once he was cut,
small (and big) people seemd very partial to blue icing.
The planes, trains, automobiles and horses kept everyone amused.

The birthday girl enjoying her icecream.

The good thing about eating icecream the same colour as your dress
is that know one can see how much you drip down your front.

Yummy Bat Cake!

More IceCream anyone?

Merry go round

Hold on to your hats!
It was a good party.  Here's to many more.

HOT HOT HOT

Its been HOT HOT HOT over here.

Happily we live only a short stroll from this beach.
Its not deep buts its crystal clear....
The smalls can play and we can lounge about
as the occasional school of silvery fish swim past.

How does your garden grow?

Here are a few of the beautiful things that have sprung up in our garden recently,
I planted a couple (and of course 2 of these beautiful things came with us),
the rest were here waiting for us to come and enjoy them.

Secret harvest!  We found these whilst digging our vegetable bed.  Yum.

Caravan Camping

The little van finally got to move from her spot on the driveway
and headed down the coast on a small road trip.

A weekend outside,
eating dirt,
stalking kangaroos
lighting smoky fires,
escaping from the flies....down a cave, on a windy beach.

I got my first proper swim in the sea this summer too.
It had dismissed the water as too cold but then Bobby's hat blew away
......so I had my reason to get in and of course it was lovely once I was.

It was our first hot weekend.
Just great to feel the warmth of the sun and sand on your skin.

And also to come home for a hot shower!
