Art Appreciation

Grandma, Grandpa and the girls strolling down to the front.
Some totally amazing sculptures appeared at the end of the road last weekend.

All so different, all really beautiful.

I loved this basket and rug, really beautiful and all made from materials found on the beaches by Dunsborough primary school.

The big man with swinging arms was another of my favourites.

Made from felted wool.
Skye liked this, she reckoned it was a sea horse.

Layla 'loved' this one.
Practising her circus skills again
We finished the weekend with a picnic at the free concert.

Ladies who Lunch

Grandma and Grandpa came to stay with us last month,
Well just down the road infact.
It meant we were lucky enough to put our pretty dresses on and go out for some nice lunches.
The main attraction, though seemd to be ....
climbing in pots of various varieties.

Alex

Alex arrived to look after Skye and Layla at the end of winter
(his suitcase followed some days later!).
Layla was just crawling, now she is running.

He laughed with the little ones right from the start.
His 6 months with us flew by.
It went from quiet to busy,
cool to warm to hot,
from working the girls out to knowing them brilliantly.
Thanks Alex for looking after them so well.
They won't be forgetting you in a hurry.
We all miss you already!

Running Away to the Circus

We had a somewhat busy weekend with a less than promising start.

Our car blew up!

So we brought a new van... (I am really quite excited by this have been wanting a van for ages so I guess the car going was a good excuse and then there was one for sale at the end of the road!)

We hitched the caravan up to the new (old) van and headed off to join the circus for the weekend.
I am not sure they would have had us for much longer...
Arthur was heard to comment that I had the grace of an Elephant as I twirled round a pole
But he had difficulty juggling more than one ball so don't think he would last long either.

We saw amazing acrobatics, juggling, flying trapeze,
2 men doing handstands on a stack of 8 chairs.....
The girls were watching hope they don't try to copy!

We even snuck in some painting in Augusta and then a swim in Gracetown on the way home.

Putting the finishing touches to Daddy's painting... Augusta

Our 2 lovely vans!

A(nother) Great Weekend.

Grandma Snowden

Grandma Snowden came to stay with us over Christmas.
We got out to beaches and Busselton,
She got some knitting done and bowled a few bowls.
And got some cuddles from some happy little people too.
